Drive One’s 2020 vision for Audi in Sri Lanka

Drive One (Pvt) Ltd, the authorised dealer for Audi vehicles in Sri Lanka, recently declared open a brand new showroom in the presence of Audi representatives and other distinguished guests. The new Audi Colombo showroom is located at No 431, Nawala Road Nawala.

The celebration reviewed the brand’s momentous journey in Sri Lanka over the past 70 years since its introduction to the island through its predecessor DKW and Auto Union.  Certain models such as the DKW 3=6 Sonderklasse Coupe and Auto Union 1000s Coupe are still preserved by rare car enthusiasts to-date. Since this introduction, Audi brand models such as the Audi A4 and Audi A6 have been well- appreciated in the recent past, while the Audi Q7 and the Audi Q2 are best sellers in the local market today.

At a media gathering held following the opening of the new showroom, Drive One officials detailed the company’s vision for 2020 and the new strategic direction for Audi, the most progressive premium automobile brand in the world. Keeping true to its philosophy, Audi prides itself on its eye-catching designs and customizations, while offering premium luxurious features and innovations that boost the level of comfort and convenience to its loyal clientele.

Drive One (Pvt) Ltd aims to be the most customer-centric automobile company in Sri Lanka in reflection of the aforementioned principles of Audi. Since its commencement, the company has offered the latest product range in accordance with the local fuel, climate and road conditions. The company has invested heavily on recruitment, training and development, and new infrastructure to meet the needs of its clients.

The new state-of-the-art showroom facility at Nawala comprises 3 floors and has been built according to Audi global standards using materials sourced from Audi-approved suppliers. Created with careful attention to detail from the layout to the ambience, the facility is aimed at providing a unique experience to all Audi enthusiasts. The soon-to-be opened 100,000sq.ft workshop facility at Wattala is also built in line with Audi global standards and will raise the bar in automotive servicing industry in Sri Lanka.

Looking to the future, Drive One revealed plans to unveil the new Audi Q3, Audi A6 and Audi Q7 to the local market in 2020. Following the success of the Audi Q2 (a compact SUV), considered a best seller in Sri Lanka,  the Audi Q3 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV that checks most boxes with its many desirable standard features. The eight-generation Audi A6 is also set to arrive on our shores in 2020, complete with added innovations in terms of digitisation, comfort and sportiness; in addition to the new Audi Q7 with updated exterior styling, more technology features and a fuel-efficient engine.

The brand, which is known for its continuous innovation, has led the way in recent years in the fields of autonomous driving technology, electric mobility, digital connectivity and sustainability. The flagship Audi A8 is the first production car to reach level 3 autonomous driving, while Audi has been at the forefront of reshaping the future with electric mobility. The Audi e-tron is the first fully-electric series production model by the brand. The sporty SUV combines the space and comfort of a typical luxury class automobile with a range exceeding 400km on a single charge. Since making its debut in March 2019, the Audi e-tron has sold over 18,000 units globally and the company plans to introduce 30 fully-electric and plug-in hybrids models by 2025. Audi has also been prioritizing sustainability by aiming to reducing the CO₂ footprint of all Audi models by 30% over its entire lifecycle by 2025, and to become completely CO₂-neutral by 2050.

Driven by this strategy and with the new investments taking form in 2020, such as the new showroom and the soon-to-be unveiled workshop facility, Drives One is geared to cater to the changing needs of local automobile enthusiasts in 2020 and beyond. We invite our loyal customers to partner us as we look forward to a successful 2020.
