The closing night of the fifteenth edition of Colombo Fashion Week began with emerging design talent and ended with Tarun Tahiliani’s captivating presentation on the marriage between colonial and Asian styles. The combination of the functionality and neatness of Western dress and the easy, versatile, comfort of Indian drapes. The superstar designer brought a thoughtful, considered, introspection to end a glamourous evening. An evening which had aspiring creativity, and showcased outstanding the elegance of one of India’s finest, most popular designers.

It is this combination of styles, and easy classiness of the evening that made the fifteenth anniversary of CFW a fitting moment for Audi Sri Lanka to support the event as the Official Automobile Partner of Colombo Fashion Week. Both brands are focused on quality, elegance and functionality. With a focus on the environment, socially conscious design and accessibility. The combination was inevitable. It was no coincidence therefore, that that Audi’s flagship models the Q5, the Q7 and the TT convertible mingled effortlessly with the exclusive gathering present at the shows at the Colombo Hilton.

No doubt the superstar designers Bibi Russel, Prasad Bidapa, Eymeric Francois , Hemant Trivedi and Tarun Tahiliani would have would have enjoyed their ‘Celebrate Colombo’ experience much more in the comfort of their sponsored Audi A6, built for Sri Lankan roads and conditions. Just as much as Audi believe in ‘advancement through technology’ the designers have moved fashion into a technology and design driven industry, which retains the glamour without the waste.
